Meet Our Professional Team
Metta Johnson, RN, BSN, OCN, CHPN, CMC has over 20 years of experience serving clients with serious, chronic and terminal illnesses. Metta has extensive clinical expertise in cancer, palliative care and gerontology.
Her inspiration to enter nursing was her parents’ own cancer experiences. After raising three children she attended nursing school with the goal of helping people gain control of their healthcare experience. Metta graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University School of Nursing in 1987. She worked in oncology a number of years helping patients understand their illnesses and their options.
In 1991, Metta, her husband Clyde, and a nursing colleague founded the first inpatient hospice facility in Atlanta – growing the program to one of the largest in the city. Metta has excellent rapport with many of the city’s leading physicians and healthcare facilities.
Metta has given numerous presentations to physicians, nurses and other professional organizations. She is nationally certified as a care manager and in oncology and hospice and palliative care. Metta is a nationally Certified Care Manager. Metta was featured in Time Magazine’s cover story “Dying on Your Own Terms” and the CNN series on pain management.
Clyde Johnson has 40 years of healthcare finance experience including 10 years as an Audit Manager for healthcare clients with a National CPA firm. Subsequently he served 12 years as a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a Metro Atlanta hospital.
In 1991, Clyde and Metta were cofounders of Atlanta’s first inpatient hospice and grew their hospice program to one of the largest in Atlanta. The Johnson’s then began providing care management services to seniors including financial services.
Clyde organizes client’s finances and utilizes those resources to meet the client’s needs. Services vary according to need, ranging from bill paying to Power of Attorney services.
