We use an interdisciplinary holistic systems approach to assess issues, tailoring solutions to each individual’s needs while respectfully maintaining the client and family's integrity and dignity.The team works collaboratively to bring the best possible care to you or your loved one, determining resources and providing support and recommendations for a wide variety of needs and circumstances.

Metta Johnson, RN BSN CMC
President and RN Certified Care Manager
Metta Johnson, President and Certified Care Manager, has over 20 years of experience serving clients with serious, chronic and terminal illnesses. Metta has extensive clinical expertise in cancer, palliative care and gerontology.

Her inspiration to enter nursing was her parents’ own cancer experiences. After raising three children she attended nursing school with the goal of helping people gain control of their healthcare experience. Metta graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University School of Nursing in 1987. She worked in oncology a number of years helping patients understand their illnesses and their options.

In 1991, Metta, her husband Clyde, and a nursing colleague founded the first inpatient hospice facility in Atlanta – growing the program to one of the largest in the city. Metta has excellent rapport with many of the city’s leading physicians and healthcare facilities.

Metta has given numerous presentations to physicians, nurses and other professional organizations. She is nationally certified as a care manager and in oncology and hospice and palliative care. Metta is a nationally Certified Care Manager. Metta was featured in Time Magazine’s cover story “Dying on Your Own Terms” and the CNN series on pain management.
Clyde Johnson
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Clyde Johnson has 40 years of healthcare finance experience including 10 years as an Audit Manager for healthcare clients with a National CPA firm. Subsequently he served 12 years as a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a major Metro Atlanta hospital.

In 1991, Clyde and Metta were cofounders of Atlanta’s first inpatient hospice and grew their hospice program to one of the largest in Atlanta. The Johnson’s then began providing care management services to seniors including financial services.

Clyde determines client’s resources and utilizes those resources to meet the client’s needs. Services vary according to need, ranging from bill paying to Power of Attorney services. Clyde is a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers.
Thomas Corrigan, MSW CMC
Director of Community Relations and Certified Care Manager
Thom Corrigan joined Metta Johnson & Associates in June, 2004. Thom has many years experience in social work and counseling, including working with Metta and Clyde at their hospice. He received his Master’s Degree in Social Work and Administration from The University of Illinois.

Thom’s focus and field work has been in the area of geriatrics but has also included working with neurological diseases, brain injuries, and terminal illnesses. He has advanced training and certification in gerontology, Alzheimer’s disease, mental health, grief & loss and case management. Thom addresses issues with both the client and their families, while utilizing a holistic systems approach to assess issues and identify individualized interventions designed for problem resolution. Thom provides guidance, support and direction to patients and their families.
Janet Townsend, RN BSN CMC
RN Certified Care Manager
Janet Townsend has over 20 years of geriatric nursing experience including cardiology and RN care management. Janet has broad experience in hospital, rehabilitation center and home health settings. This overall perspective benefits Janet's clients.

Janet excels in client advocacy, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, medication management, and crisis intervention and resolution. Janet brings peace of mind to her clients through every step of the health care process.
Maureen McCaffrey, RN BSN
RN Care Manager
Maureen McCaffrey, RN Care Manager, has over 25 years experience in nursing and is nationally certified in gerontological nursing. With a focus in gerontology, Maureen spent time nursing at three different Wesley Wood locations and was the resident director at Dogwood Forest Assisted Living Center in Dunwoody, GA. She has extensive experience with both Alzheimer’s and dementia, including setting up and supervising Alzheimer’s wings in assisted living homes.

Maureen’s experience in home health, nursing homes and the hospital setting prove very valuable assets to her clients. Additionally, her love of geriatrics was cemented through her service as a personal care manager, resident service director and wellness coordinator.
Linda Brown, RN BSN MHA CCM CMC
Certified Care Manager

Linda has over 30 years experience in nursing and case management with an emphasis on home care. She is one of two nurses in the state of Georgia to hold certification in both care (CMC) and case (CCM) management. Linda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cornell University, attended Boston College Graduate School of Community Health and received a Master Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of St. Francis.


Linda’s goal is to advocate for all clients, maintaining their independence while ensuring they receive optimum care and service. Her experience as a Regional Care Management Consultant for a large international TPA, as well as her experience as the administrator of several home care agencies, most particularly, the home care agency of Atlanta’s pediatric hospital has enhanced her background in caring for special needs individuals of any age.
